This fragrance was launched in 2012 by Fragrance House Amouage along with the women's perfume of the same name. This special fragrance aims to convey a sense of controlled chaos to the wearer and those around them. The cologne opens with notes of pimento berry oil, bergamot and oregano. Heart notes are traditional spices such as frankincense, opoponax and myrrh, along with sweet and warm notes of amber and cistus. Base notes of sandalwood, agarwood smoke, leather and patchouli linger and give the cologne a little more depth.

Amouage is a perfume house founded in 1983. The company utilizes traditional Arabian perfumes to create contemporary flavors. The packaging is also based on old traditions. Amouage Interlude comes in a deep blue bottle in the shape of the Khanjar, the traditional Omani dagger.
