Missoni was founded in 1953 by Ottavio Missoni and Rosita Missoni in a knitwear workshop in Gallarate, Lombardy, Italy. The brand is known today for its high quality fashion and colorful designs. Based in Varese, Italy, the company is privately owned and managed by the Missoni family. Daughter Angela Missoni runs the fashion line and son Luca is responsible for knitwear design, new designs and research and development in the field of textile machinery. His first fragrance was launched in 1982. His EuroItalia, an Italian luxury perfume and cosmetics company, now owns the fragrance license.
