Putain Des Palaces perfume through Etat Libre D'orange, released in 2006, Putain des Palaces is made with the femme fatale in thoughts, undeniably female, ambitious and seductive. The primary spritz invokes powdery violet notes, but the scent hastily unfolds into something extra complicated and daring. Leather, amber, rose and musk shape a sensual, animalic shroud shot through with shiny and active mandarin orange, lily-of-the-valley and ginger. The iconic accord stirs passions and encourages boldness and intimacy.
Etienne de Swardt founded Etat Libre D’Orange (“The Orange loose state”) with the intent to release novel and borderline arguable compositions. Upset with traditional perfumery, de Swardt constructed the logo at the idea of revolution against the industry standards, from the name taken from a sovereign republic in South Africa to the three-colored rosette on every bottle. The emblem’s works - all unisex fragrances - were made in collaboration with diverse perfumers and some of celebrities from Tilda Swinton to the sex Pistols.
